“Bad weather tennis tips”!

I know many of you are competing for your various schools this spring, and if your season has been like ours at Episcopal, it has been complicated by the crazy weather! It has been snowy, windy and rainy on quite a few days! When you are playing matches on these windy spring days, keep your strokes simple and concentrate on moving well and trying to be in the best position possible. Don’t go for great shots, just hit more balls towards the middle and make your opponent make one more shot. It’s a good strategy anyway, but really works in these conditions. If you are having trouble getting much practice time in, try to find a wall in a gym and do some rallying, volleying and whatever you can to try and keep your rhythm up. Jumping rope , ladder work, and some exercises to keep you light footed and on your toes can also help. I know we are all hoping for a few great weeks of spring tennis to finish up our seasons, and good luck to everyone out there competing. Talk to your teams about possibly attending a week of camp together!
